Guidelines for Heraldic display by members of The Teutonic Order

The heraldry of the Order of the Teutonic Knights of St. Mary's Hospital in Jerusalem for Historical Recreationists shall be based on the real Teutonic Order.
These guidelines are being tweaked for both historical accuracy and consistency, to accommodate the need to difference us from the real order and to accommodate rules and laws of The Adrian Empire, where this order is based.

All companions of The Order may display this device on a shield.

  4. A Cross Pattee Sable The chivalry of The Order may wear a knightly collar of black crosses pattée.

On the right shoulder of a knight's cape, cloak, tabbard or surcote there shall be placed the personal heraldic device of the knight as registered in his or her parent organization ie.
